Did you see those recent pictures about the shanzhai building in Shanghai that hadn’t finished construction so they covered it with glass-like tarp?

I’ve wondered why they haven’t done something like that to the CCTV building…it’s just such an eyesore! (not your pictures…just the building)

I did see the Shanghai bldg. photos.

Regarding the TVCC: I’ve actually gotten to like the contrast between the two major buildings of this project. There seems to be a bit of work going on at the TVCC, though I can’t imagine that it will be finished any time soon. Very few workers visible on-site. The exterior cladding is going to be a major part of the reconstruction – if, in fact, it will be reconstructed – and that hasn’t even gotten started yet. I have no idea what is happening inside.

One of the reasons that I am glad that it’s not covered is that it is a constant public reminder of CCTV’s hubris and incompetence. Let’s not forget that they missed the biggest 2009 Beijing story: the torching of their very own building. Let’s not cover that up.
